April 8th, 2008: TNWWG hosted by Sewanee: University of the South and Duck River EMCOn Tuesday April 8th, 2008 the Tennessee Wind Working Group was invited by Sewanee: University of the South and Duck River EMC to present to the University, EMC, and members of the community about wind energy technology across the United States and Sewanee area potential. Topics covered in the morning included, Oversight of Current Wind Energy Industry, Overview of TVA Generation Partners Program, Safety, Interconnection, and Codes, Siting Wind in the Sewanee Region. During lunch an information presentation on the TVA Buffalo Mountain Project was given. The afternoon session covered Green Jobs, Wind Energy in the United States, Environmental Benefits of Wind Energy, Community Benefits of Wind Energy, Wind for Schools, and Exploring Sewanee: The University of the South and Wind Energy.
